Lions use franchise tag on DE Ezekiel Ansah

The Detroit Lions used their franchise tag on Defensive End, Ezekiel Ansah. From what I understand, the Lions are using their tag on him is because he proved to be one of the best Edge Rushers in 2017. The Lions are paying Ansah $17.5 million for 2018. I know it was a short post. But if you want more info visit:  http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000917791/article/detroit-lions-place-franchise-tag-on-ezekiel-ansah

NFL COULD change Defensive PI to a 15-yard penalty

The National Football League COULD change the Defensive Pass Interference penalty to only a 15-yard penalty. If they actually changed the rule, it would be a minor let down for offensive teams that like to draw contact. I agree and disagree with their try. I agree because I think offenses are getting some of their yards without EARNING the yards. I disagree because this isn't a very necessary time to make a proposal to change the rule. With all of the "Catch Rule" drama, the NFL should deal with that first. For more info visit:  http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000917735/article/nfl-could-change-defensive-pi-to-15yard-penalty

Eagles punter Donnnie Jones retires

The Philadelphia Eagles punter Donnie Jones announced his retirement from the NFL after 14 years. During his career Jones also played for the Seattle Seahawks, the (then) St. Louis Rams, the Houston Texans, and the Miami Dolphins. He played 208 consecutive regular-season games from 2005 through 2017. He just punted once against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 52. NFL Top 2 offseason priorities

The NFL has two MAIN priorities this year. Here they are Make new Catch Rule (don't make it worse) The NFL's number one priority is to do something about the catch rule. But try their hardest not to make it worse. Rodger Goodell  and the NFL need to think of a way to make the catch rule easier to define. This rule changed the season of the Pittsburgh Steelers (Jesse James Catch) and won the Super Bowl for the Philadelphia Eagles (Zach Ertz Catch).        2. Consider adding a targeting rule The NFL in my opinion should add a targeting rule. Just like college football. More and more players these days have suffered concussions and the penalty is only 15 yards!! In college football less players make hits that hard, so if anything the NFL should have that rule instead of the NCAA. And as most of you know, if you get called for targeting in college football you are ejected. I think that should be the same in the NFL. Leave a comment in the comments section below if you agree

Jaguars QB Blake Bortles contract extended to 2020

The Jacksonville Jaguars gave QB Blake Bortles an extension of 3-years worth $54 million. Bortles helped the Jags go from a losing season to an AFC Championship Game appearance. I think the Jags made the right move. Because Bortles is a good inside the pocket thrower but he can run when he has to. With one player released (Chris Ivory) this offseason, Bortles wasn't 100% sure about getting his contract extended.  I also agree with his salary and the length of his contract. $54 million is the right amount of money for a player like Bortles. Bortles also (in the next 3 years that he has) can take the Jaguars into the playoffs again and possibly take them into the Super Bowl. And I think 3 years is enough to develop a relationship with his teammates and coaches. That will allow him to know what moves the players will make and what calls the coaches will make. Buccaneers Kicker Nick Folk released after 1 year

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicker Nick Folk is "one and done". Folk only played one season with the Bucs and it was his only season. In that season he only played 4 games making 6 of 11 field goals. After Folk ended his run as the Bucs kicker, the Bucs moved on to Patrick Murray to play the 12 games that were remaining in the season. NFL Combine

As most of us know, the NFL Scouting Combine is where all of the NFL scouts and GM's (general manager's) go to look at college players trying to get drafted. It's basically like a "tryout" for the college players. Three top ranked college QB's have said that they WILL throw or "get tried out" at the NFL Scouting Combine. Those three QB's are: Baker Mayfield (Oklahoma University), Josh Allen (The University of Wyoming), and Josh Rosen (University of California Los Angeles). Odell Beckham Jr. Probably going to sit out for Giants Preseason

Odell Beckham Jr. is the New York Giants Wide Receiver. Beckham (as most of us know) did not play most of the 2017-2018 season because of a fractured ankle. But during the preseason he also suffered a less severe ankle injury and missed the rest of the preseason and the Giants season opener. Then 4 weeks later he was lost for the season. After a tweet from a fan begging Beckham Jr. to sit out the preseason, Beckham virtually nodded in agreement with that fan. There are two MAIN reasons he is probably going to sit out: A. Scared of re-injury B. Contract related problems But who knows, in football anything can happen.

Patriots re-sign RB Brandon Bolden

The New England Patriots re-signed RB Brandon Bolden to a 1-year $880K deal. In my opinion, that was a bad move by the Pats because they have good running backs in Rex Burkhead, Dion Lewis, Mike Gillislee, and James White. I think the Pats just wasted money. Because Bolden isn't that good, I think they should have released him because: A. Bolden isn't that good B. They have 4 other very good RB's C.  They should have saved their money for another player But 880K isn't that much money, so that's probably why they re-signed him For more info visit:  http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000917442/article/patriots-bring-back-rb-brandon-bolden-for-2018

Jaguars RB Chris Ivory released after 2 years

The Jacksonville Jaguars drafted a very good running back in Leonard Fournette. And also have another good running back in T.J. Yeldon. But Chris Ivory, he was just average. That's why I think they released him. They released him after 2 years because last year (and the year before that) the Jaguars did not have Fournette on their team. And last year Yeldon was not that good, that's why they kept him for two more years. Colts re-sign kicker Adam Vinateri

The Indianapolis Colts recently re-signed kicker Adam Vinatieri to a 1-year $3.6 million with $2 million in guaranteed. Adam Vinatieri was an undrafted free agent out of South Dakota State. He signed with the New England Patriots in 1996. He played with the Pats until 2005, winning 3 Super Bowls with them, he then signed with the Indianapolis Colts. He is currently 45 years old. That's an old age for football. Vinatieri has made 559 field goals. Keep checking back on this website for more updates

Doug Marrone and Tom Coughlin get contracts extended

The Jacksonville Jaguars have made a move in their offseason. The Jaguars extended Doug Marrone (head coach) and Tom Coughlin's (Executive Vice President) contracts to 2021. Marrone coached the Jaguars very well, in my opinion. He took them all the way to the AFC Championship Game! Coming off a losing season he turned the Jags around and like I said took them all the way to the AFC Championship Game. Broncos want to keep (not cut) WR Emmanuel Sanders

After a lot of rumors saying that Broncos Wide Receiver, Emmanuel Sanders is going to get cut by the Denver Broncos. The Denver Broncos are PLANNING to keep him. "He's got a $10 million cap number ... but, remember, they want to lure a big-time free-agent quarterback to the team. This quarterback -- maybe  Kirk Cousins , maybe someone else -- needs someone to throw to." Stated NFL Insider Ian Rapoport. Rapoport said that on Thursday's edition of NFL Total Access. But on Friday Around the NFL reporter Chris Wesseling reported that the Broncos are actually planning on keeping Emanuel Sanders.  In my opinion, they should trade him for a good quarterback. John Elway (Broncos General Manager) has said that the Broncos will be looking for a QB. And why not now? It's the perfect time, you have an expensive Wide Receiver that has past his prime.  For more info on this story you can go to:  http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000917341/article/denver-broncos-plan-

Former Jets LB Retires

The ex-Jets linebacker David Harris retires after his 11 season career. Harris was drafted out of Michigan (like Tom Brady) by (then Jets coach) Eric Mangini in the second round of the 2007 draft. he played with the Jets from 2007-2016 and played his 2017 season with the Patriots. He stated: "After 11 years of of having played the greatest team sport at its highest level, it's time for me to announce my retirement from the NFL". Harris wrote that statement and it was released by Sportstars. Another story from around the NFL For more info please visit:  http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000917382/article/former-jets-lb-david-harris-retiring-after-11-seasons

Kansas City Chiefs trade all-pro CB Marcus Peters

The Kansas City Chiefs trade all-pro cornerback Marcus Peters to the LA Rams!!!! The Chiefs made another blockbuster trade, they traded All-pro cornerback Marcus Peters to the LA Rams for draft picks (don't know.) The Chiefs have been really aggressive this off-season. First the Alex Smith trade, then Marcus Peters! In my opinion, the Alex Smith trade made a little bit of sense. But the Marcus Peters one, well that was just insane. The Rams definitely got the better end of this trade. Another point that this is a bad move for the Chiefs is because they already have cut Darelle Revis too. The Chiefs defense is going to be worse than it was last year, that's for sure. Let's see what other moves the Chiefs will make in the 2018 offseason.
